Chromebook Checkout Guidelines & Procedures

Excellence in education requires that technology be seamlessly integrated throughout the educational program and as a result increasing access to technology is essential. One learning tool of 21st Century students is the use of Chromebooks; individual use of Chromebooks is a way to empower students to maximize their full potential and to prepare them for college and beyond.

  • Chromebook Check In/Out: 8-11 a.m. and 1-4 p.m., Monday through Friday at RSD's IT Offices (1992 Saint Street, Richland, WA) 

Our IT department will provide support to students and families with hardware issues and access to district-approved applications with district-issued Chromebooks. We will accommodate pickup as soon as possible, if not then it will be the next available pickup window. If morning, then afternoon, if afternoon then next morning.

NOTE: appointments need to be scheduled in in advance to allow IT staff time to prepare accordingly, drop-ins will be asked to enter a support request via tech support options before a replacement will be issued.

IT specialists will not be able to assist with connectivity and software issues for Chromebooks or problems with personal devices.

Bring Your Own Device

Secondary students may bring and use their own personal devices in classrooms daily. However, participation of and allowing personal devices in classrooms is at the discretion of the classroom teacher – please verify with them directly whether they support the use of personal devices in their individual classrooms.
